HL 6050DN Printer Cartridge, Affordable High Quality Laser Printing For Small Business
When it comes to monochrome, networkable laser printers, Brother may not be a name that immediately comes to mind. With the HL 6050DN Toner has provided a viable, competitive alternative to other major printer manufacturers.
A standard built in 10/100 Ethernet interface enables the HL-6050DN to be installed into the small office environment straight out of the box. A major asset to the small business is the paper capacity of the Hl-6050DN. The standard paper tray holds 500 sheets of paper. This full ream of paper can be either letter or legal size. An optional additional paper tray also holds 500 sheets. Utilization of both paper trays allows legal paper to be place in one tray and letter sized paper in the second. Many small business applications require duplex printing. A duplex printing function is included on the HL 6050DN Cartridge as a standard feature.
Volume sized paper trays require toner cartridges and drums that provide supplies for volume printing. The TN6070 toner cartridge has the capacity for printing 7500 pages. 30,000 pages will need to be printed before the DR600 drum will need replacement. The high volume drum/toner cartridge combination provides low cost per page printing while maintaining the availability of the printer.
Brother has designed the HL6050DN for the network environment. With that in mind, 32MB of memory is provided as standard. Should the memory in the printer need to be expanded Brother has provided a slot, which will accept additional memory chips. These chips are available as 16MB, 32MB, 64MB and 128MB. The ability to expand the printers’ memory in various sizes permits the small business workgroup to customize the printer for their exact needs.
The HL6050DN will print a consistent 18 pages of text per minute. The printer takes from 10 – 12 seconds to start printing the first page of the document. While not as fast as other printers both the time to print and print output rates are acceptable for most applications.
Setup of the HL-6050DN is quick and simple. The Quick Start utility program provided by Brother allows even the most inexperienced person to quickly and accurately provide the utilities that are necessary for the printer to operate. Changes to the program can be accomplished either from the computer’s system tray or a file resident in the computer.
No matter what platform the small business has based its network on, the Brother HL-6050DN can adapt to it. The HL-6050DN is at home in Windows, Apple OS and Linux environments. The printer fits seamlessly and transparently in any environment. This ability is a great asset to any small business and negates the possible purchase of a new printer should network environments be changed.
In the HL-6050DN, Brother has made significant advances in both quality and competitiveness.
